GUEST BOOK

As far back as I can remember,June and Jim Chavers have always been very close with my parents and involved in our family.I always looked forward to seeing and spending time with them.My parents were blessed to share in their friendship. The service today was truly beautiful.May God be with Jim and his family.

- Jim Tatum, Savannah, GA

Another Tatum here with fond memories of June Chavers and great appreciation for the great friendship shared with our parents and our entire family. June and Jim are part of our family. Jim likes to tell the story of how proud they were when my brother Bob was born on June’s birthday. Of course he was more proud when two more Tatums – my brother Jim and myself were born on his birthday. I remember so many visits in the distant past and last summer. Our mother, Teresa Tatum will especially miss June after over 60 years of sweet friendship. Our love goes out to Jim and Jimmy, Sandy and Davey. May the love she shared with you continue to flow from you and may God comfort you.

- Karen Tatum Ternes, Dhahran,

I feel that I have just read my condolence note having read my brother's. June and Jim Chavers continued to nurture our family and share in our lives after all of the children were gone from home. They enriched all of our lives and especially the lives of our parents as they made sure they never missed any milestone in the lives of our families. Just one example, Jim was the driver and June the companion to my parents as my Dad recovered from open heart surgery. They drove them to Texas so they could attend my sister's wedding in '90. It is hard to speak of June without mentioning Jim because they were indeed a pair. They beautifully complemented each other - she quiet and serene; he outgoing and engaging. Our heart goes out to the entire family. I pray that God will grant you peace as you heal in knowing that you will see her once again! She will be greatly missed. With love and prayers, Jim and Terry Tatum Wilkins

My Dad and Mom were friends with Jim and June Chavers for many years. From my earliest childhood I remember Jim and June Chavers visiting our home at Beaulieu outside of Savannah with their children, Jim, Sandy and Davey. The Chavers have always been favorites of our family. Jim and June Chavers traveled a lot and when we were children they entertained us for hours with their slide shows of the Cherokee Indians in North Carolina. I remember June Chavers as being a very warm and pretty woman who was always smiling and it was an absolute pleasure to be with her. My parents were very lucky to have shared such a long and warm friendship with June and Jim Chavers. June Chavers loved her husband, her children and her friends and she will be missed by all of us who knew and loved her. I am sure that God has prepared a special place in heaven for a very special lady who loved and worshipped Him. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the friends and family of June Norton Chavers.

My condolences to 'The Chavers Family', I hope the thought of June being in God's Memory and his eagerness for June to be reunited with her family, bring much comfort to your family as it has for me. I never knew her , but I know she must have been a very beautiful person.

Our Aunt June was a beautiful person. She was raised in Estill, SC by modest parents, but she was the most graceful and 'proper' lady I knew growing up. She will live forever in our memories of Thanksgiving and family gatherings. When I recently learned how she met Uncle Jim, I thought it was a beautiful story that sounded like a movie. How rare is it to find that kind of love? Aunt June will be missed by family and friends, but we will always honor her memory.

To my beloved Aunt June. I loved you so much - our Norton family gatherings will never be the same without you sitting pretty with your sweet smile! You will be so missed but I know you are in heaven. Tell Grandmama and Granddaddy hello for me!!!!
